Crane lift planning studio

Plan a crane lift from the load to the signed lift plan. Weigh the load and rigging, pick a crane or let the studio rank the library for the lift, drag the crane, pick and set on the site plan, and check the chart utilisation, boom geometry, clearances, power lines, outrigger and mat bearing, rigging, lifting lugs, wind and tandem lifts — then watch the lift in 3D and print the lift plan, A3 drawings and workbook.

Scope & limitations

Planning aid only. Load charts here are generic (from a stability model): every lift must be made to the manufacturer's load chart for the exact crane configuration, by a competent crane crew, with ground, services and permits verified on site.

What the crane lift planning studio does

Enter the load and its rigging weights, choose a crane (or let the studio rank every crane in the library for the lift) and place the crane, the pick and the set on the site plan by dragging — radius, boom length and angle, hook height and chart utilisation update as you drag.

Load charts come from a rigid-body stability model at the code's percentage of tipping, capped by boom strength; paste the manufacturer's chart to replace it.

Clearances to buildings and obstacles are checked in the boom plane and along the slew path with the load lifted clear; overhead power lines are checked against the code's no-go distance for the boom and the load.

Outrigger reactions are found for every slew angle with mats and ground bearing capacity; crawler track pressure, pick-and-carry axle loads and tower crane pad foundations are covered.

Rigging: leg loads with the centre of gravity offset and sling angles, sling and shackle selection from standard tables, spreader beams and pin-connected lifting lugs, the wind limit for the suspended load and tandem lifts.

Outputs: a 3D animated lift, an A3 drawing set, an Excel workbook with live formulas, calculation sheets, a lift plan with sequence and sign-off, and the cost and bill of quantities for the lift.
